Turn a Real Part Into a Digital One

Lost the drawings? Need to recreate a part nobody makes anymore, or improve one you already have? We scan it, convert it, and validate it, then hand you clean mesh or STEP files you can actually build from.

How it works

Scan, convert, validate

Reverse engineering is only useful if you can trust the result. We don't just hand you a scan - we make sure the digital part matches the real one.

  1. ScanWe capture the physical part with professional 3D scanning, picking up the geometry that matters.
  2. ConvertWe turn that scan into the format you need - an editable mesh, or a clean STEP file you can take into CAD.
  3. ValidateWe check the model back against the original part, so what you receive is accurate, not just close.
Who we do it for

Where reverse engineering pays off

A few of the places we do this work most often. If your part isn't on this list, it's still worth a conversation.

  • Automotive - recreate discontinued, rare, or modified parts
  • Powersports - brackets, housings, and custom fitments
  • IT and hardware - enclosures, mounts, and replacement components
  • Invention and product - capture a hand-made part to refine and manufacture
  • Legacy parts - bring an old component back to life with no original files
  • Improvement - start from what exists, then make it better
Got a part in hand?

Send it over and we'll tell you what's possible

Describe the part and how you plan to use the files. We'll recommend the right scan approach and the right output format for the job.

Questions

Frequently asked

What files will I receive?

Mesh files or STEP files, based on what you need. A mesh is great for printing or visualization; a STEP file drops cleanly into CAD for further design work.

How accurate is the result?

We validate the converted model against the original part before delivery, so you can build on it with confidence.

Can you improve the part, not just copy it?

Yes. Once it's digital, we can refine it - fix weak points, change fitments, or prepare it for manufacturing.

Do I need to ship you the part?

Often that's the easiest path, but let's talk first. Depending on the part, there may be options.
